Who Are We?
The Atlanta Electrical Contractors Association (AECA) is a not-for-profit trade association representing over 40 employers. We are some of the largest, most successful contractors in Atlanta.
Our projects include:
Skyscrapers
Shopping Malls
Professional Athletic Complexes
Airport Expansions
Data Centers
Manufacturing Facilities
We employ over 3,500 professionally trained electrical technicians and more than 500 electrical technician trainees. We need career-minded individuals who are eager to learn and grow with the Atlanta electrical industry.
We have been in the Atlanta area for over 75 years and some of our contractors have been here longer than that. A number of our contractors have employees who have been with them for more than 25 years.
Our employers provide:
Employer paid health insurance
Employer paid retirement plans
Employer paid tuition for safety/technical training
AECA members perform drug testing as a condition of employment, after an accident or injury and on a random basis as well.
You will be evaluated to identify an appropriate starting classification of Construction Wireman/Construction Electrician (CW/CE). There are a total of 8 levels. Throughout your career, you will need a valid Georgia driver’s license and dependable transportation. Most of the work is in the metro Atlanta area.
Starting pay for a CW-1 is around $20,000 per year (plus benefits) with a CE-8 at $43,800 per year (plus benefits). The yearly pay is based on working 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year.
Employer paid training will be provided throughout your career! Your current level of experience will determine how many hours of training you’ll need each year – both on the job (OJT) and in the classroom. To move from one level to the next, you must have at least 2,000 on the job hours each year. Classroom training hours (10 hours to 160 hours) increase with your years of experience. Once all the requirements are met for a CE-8, you can upgrade to a Journeyman.
It’s entirely up to you! If you’re a productive self-starter who shows up for work everyday, has a positive attitude, can work well with others, completes tasks accurately, follows directions and promotes company goals, then you could become any of the following:
Supervisor Safety Manager Estimator Service Technician Project Manager Superintendent Contractor/Owner
